Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI) is a non-profit organisation established in 2008 (formerly Ecotourism Society of India) to promote environmentally responsible and sustainable tourism practices in India’s tourism industry. It works closely with the central and state governments, tourism bodies, NGOs, and industry stakeholders to develop policies, guidelines, and certification for sustainable tourism. RTSOI advocates minimizing negative environmental and social impacts, conserving natural and cultural heritage, and ensuring that local communities benefit from tourism. The society is open to individuals and organisations committed to the sustainable development of tourism.
